چکیده
Abstract Mechanisms for the effects of nitrogen on durability hydrophobic and corrosion resistance modified layers prepared surface AH32 steel by plasma nitriding have been investigated. It was found that can significantly improve hydrophobicity steel. All contact angles (CAs) with 1 h, 3 h 5 were higher than 120°, which had excellent hydrophobicity. The acidification degree solution within layer’s micro-zone effectively reduced due to dissolution nitrogen. micro-nano structures corroded severely after 15 days exposure NaCl solution. When time is extended intensified enhanced blocking effect, in layer saturated cannot provide enough ions offset solution, so decreased instead. In comparison, this study best long-term service protective effect

Corrosion and wear-corrosion behavior of NiTi modified by plasma source ion implantation.
The understanding of corrosion behavior in NiTi is critical for the devices using this shape-memory alloy. In order to improve the surface properties of NiTi such as corrosion resistance, plasma source ion implantation (PSII) technique was employed with oxygen as incident ions at three levels of implantation dose (5x10(16), 1x10(17) and 3x10(17) ions/cm(-2)). Pitting corrosion and wear-corrosio...
متن کاملEffect of nitriding temperature on the nanostructure and corrosion properties of Nickel coated 304 stainless steel
Nickel films of 150 nm thickness were deposited on 304 stainless steel and post annealed under flow of nitrogen at different temperatures. The prepared samples were corrosion tested in 1.0 M H2SO4 solution using potentiodynamic polarization technique. Crystallographic and morphological structure of the samples were analysed by X-ray diffraction XRD and atomic force microscopy AFM respectively b...
متن کاملHydrophobic and superhydrophobic coatings for corrosion protection of steel
Since metals in general, and steels in particular, are vital construction materials in our modern society, the corrosion protection of said materials is of great importance, both to ensure safety and to reduce costs associated to corrosion. Previously, chromium (VI) and other harmful substances were effectively used to provide corrosion protection to steel, but since their use was heavily regul...
متن کاملCorrosion Behavior of Copper in Chloride Media
The electrochemical behavior of copper in 0.05 M HCl and 0.05 M NaCl carried out at open-circuit potential and at constant anodic potential after one hour has been investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) at 20 °C, 40 °C and 60 °C. The formation of copper chloride (CuCl) film does not protect copper from dissolution in the chloride media. The physical properties of the pa...
